I MADE A USEFUL PYTHON SCRIPT

I’ve been trying to get the automation I made using Shortcuts and Keyboard Maestro done with Python. I succeeded because I’m Good and Geeky and I persevered. It wasn’t that difficult really. Usability is the Problem What I had was working fine. The Subler text file appeared in the folder and Hazel opened it up for me in BBEdit I typed in the three character string to start the Keyboard Maestro Macro which ran a Shortcut.

LEARNING NEOVIM

This morning I’m doing some setting up and learning of Neovim. Learned how to put a set of quotation marks around a word or words just using some keys - ysw(the characters required) eg - ysw" This will add the quotation marks around one word. Also set it up so it works in a similar way to Tmux Cool or what?

Messing about with Mac Automation I set up a Keyboard Maestro to do a set of find and replace actions in the text I get out of Subler . The Chapters for the latest video tutorial. It worked and I was happy with it. But… I wanted to see if I could do it with Shortcuts. Yea… Success I made it work. Booo…. It stopped working and I couldn’t work out why.

GETTING INTO NEOVIM

Yesterday I did some more fiddling about with Neovim. Setting it up to be prettier and also more useful. Now have a file explorer in Neovim which makes it easy to get to files in a project. I have different colours in the status bar by using a lualine extension/plugin. Nice to see clearly which mode you are.

Setting up Neovim I should be making a video but I’m setting up Neovim because I’m having some success with getting it sorted out. I’ve managed to get the colours sorted out for the information bar at the bottom of the screen. Now it shows me a different colour for each of the different modes I might be in. This makes it much easier to work out what I’m supposed to be doing with the keys.

I’ve been using 1Password for years. Now I’m looking at KeePassXC. Not as pretty but it looks like it will do most of the job. Don’t think there’s an iOS app which is a bit of a downer. Also I’ve been using a Raycast extension to make passwords for me. Quick and easy.
